646f9e108c A woman finds that her neighbors are terrorists, and her husband is not who he claims to be. Delhi University's Professor Avantika Ahuja meets fellow professor Ehsan Khan in typical Bollywood filmy style, and both fall in love with each other. Her father, who had preferred that she marry a Hindu, reluctantly permits them to get married. They do so, and subsequently re-locate to live in the United States. They buy a house, settle in, and are welcomed by their neighbors, Hamid and Anjum. A few days later Avantika's world will be turned upside down when she finds out that their neighbors are terrorists who want to avenge the deaths of innocent Iraqi and Afghani civilians massacred by British and American forces, and that her husband is not who he claims to be. An amazing psychological thriller. The acting is good, the soundtrack is good, even the effects are good. Whether or not everything is realistic is one thing, but it still did not fail at keeping its viewers at the edge of their seats. The only reason it has received so many negative votes is because it puts Islam in a bad light. Consequently, all of the 1-star reviews are from Muslims who don't want their religion in this light. However, the truth is that there are many people out there that do exist. And they are simply following the Quran's teachings. Any Muslim that denies that the Quran commands violence towards unbelievers is either lying or is outright ignorant of their own religion. But religion aside, this was a great movie. There was a bit of good acting scattered throughout and the music was decent, but the plot holes were large enough to drive a bus through, and I found the handling of Muslim characters extremely one-sided. Yes, there were a few moderate voices, but they got very little attention, making this seem pretty much 95% anti-Islamic.

The story following the FBI investigators was extremely choppy and that investigation was not believable. Leads suchfingerprints that should have been on the murder weapon in the club, or suchthe license plates on the burned car were completely ignoredthese supposedly-trained detectives stumbled around in the dark and waited for a reporter to solve all their problems.

The idea that a terrorist cell would not do even a cursory investigation of a new member right before an attack is also ridiculous.

I was however very impressed by the Hindi spoken by random New York Caucasians in the night classes. Shabash! Maybe mine would have improved faster if I'd attended more lectures on religion.
